A VERY SEXY XMAS WITH STEVEN OLIVER

Titles created for the very fun ABC Indigenous Christmas special... With no one around, an empty studio and a vivid imagination, Steven Oliver creates the ultimate Christmas spectacular.

ANZACS - REMEMBERING OUR HEROES

This interstitial was originally created in 2012 for broadcast during the lead up to ANZAC day. It was later used as an opening sequence, in honour of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islands (AKA First Nations) soldiers. Many of whom were not considered citizens at the time of their duty, their efforts went unrecognised and they returned home to ongoing discrimination including being denied the services pension.

MOTION DESIGN SHOWREEL

A collection of various motion works produced between 2014 and 2018 including; National NAIDOC Ball, The Point - with Stan Grant, The Laura Festival, In The Frame, From the Western Frontier, My Place and Fusion - with Casey Donovon.

THE POINT

THIN BLACK LINE KEY ART

On a spring afternoon in Brisbane's Musgrave Park, the 18-year-old traditional dancer and amateur boxer is drinking with his mates.

But when a police van arrives, the mood suddenly changes, triggering a dramatic chain of events.

Presented by Walkley Award-winning investigative journalist Allan Clarke, Thin Black Line is a deep dive into what happened that day — according to the one eyewitness who saw it all unfold, speaking publicly for the first time in almost three decades.

His still-grieving family believe that not only could Daniel's death have been prevented, but that he shouldn't have been arrested in the first place.”

SOURCE

“Depending on who you ask, the infamous 1993 death in custody of Aboriginal teenager Daniel Yock is either a tragic incident or unfinished business.”

THE DREAMERS DESIGN

The Dreamers was established in 2012 as a concept label with the agenda of wearing cultural pride like armour and a sign of solidarity. The Dreamers Design adopts fashion techniques and methodologies to create a youth focused aesthetic aiming to reinforce relevance and appeal. The shirts often feature positive, yet challenging messages using playful and thoughtful design. The flamboyant jewellery uses vibrant and recognisable colours to further empower the wearer. This is continued under the umbrella of Nungala Creative.

#ALWAYSWASALWAYSWILLBE

This design draws inspiration from the front line rally cries of  Aboriginal protest in Australia. 'Always was, Always will be, Aboriginal Land'.

#GARYFOLEY

Gary Foley is a renowned Aboriginal Gumbainggir academic, writer and human rights activist. This design takes from the iconic image of him during the 1971 Springboks protests holding a placard reading, “Pardon me for being born into a nation of racists". The message maintains it's relevance today.
